Ingredients

Serves : 7
  • 2 cups fried rice powder


  • 3/4 cups coconut (grated)


  • 1 1/4 cups boiling water


  • 2 tsp cumins


  • 3 tsp sesame seed(ellu)


  • 5 nos garlic cloves


  • 5 nos shallots


  • 350 ml oil(for frying)

Directions

  • Powder the coconut in a mixer grinder, and keep aside.
  • Grind garlic,shallots, 1 tsp cumins without water. Keep aside
  • Make a dough, by mixing the boiling water,salt,balance cumins and sesame seeds.
  • Add the mix prepared in step 2 to the batter and mix them well and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  • Again mix it gently and make it like small balls.
  • Flatten these balls and make the shape of kuzhalappam by wrapping these flattened dough along 1 finger..
  • And fry it in oil.Kuzhalappam Ready
  • For sweetness,dip it in sugar paani (this is optional)
  • Sugar pani- Heat same amount of water and sugar in a vessel, cook until the sugar gets dissloved.
  • When mixing dough add water as per the rice powder you can add hot water too.
